Having healthy and moisturized lips is everyone’s dream. Proper care can make lips healthy and free from issues such as dryness and chapping, which can cause discomfort and affect self-confidence.

One such solution is offered by Aurel Diyah Agustin (Accounting 2022), a student of the Accounting Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), who has developed an innovative lip tint product. The product, BOTANICS, is made using natural and eco-friendly ingredients from dragon fruit peel and turmeric extract.

“BOTANICS utilizes natural extracts from dragon fruit peel and turmeric to produce a unique and safe color. The product is also enriched with vitamin E to maintain lip health,” Aurel explained when contacted on Thursday (25/7).

Aurel, along with her two campus colleagues, Salsabila Fitri Alya (Pharmacy 2022) and Dita Ristyani (Health Nutrition 2022), developed a lip tint product that is not only of high quality but also unique and practical. The trio created this product through the 2024 Student Creativity Program in Entrepreneurship (PKM-K) under the guidance of Dr.rer.nat. Ronny Martien, M.Si., successfully secured funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Aurel revealed that the idea behind the development of BOTANICS stemmed from the experiences of her fellow students who often needed a mirror when applying lipstick or lip tint. This product highlighted the need for a practical solution in cosmetic packaging.

“Every BOTANICS package includes a lip tint and a pouch with a mirror, making it easier for users to apply the product anytime and anywhere,” she explained.

The stylishly designed pouch can also be hung in various places, adding convenience. Moreover, users can obtain information related to the product, beauty tips, challenges, and exclusive promotions by scanning the QR code on the packaging and lip tint bottle.

BOTANICS comes with interactive and user-friendly packaging that makes it distinct from other lip tints. The product is available on marketplaces or can be ordered through Instagram @pkmkugm.botanics.
