SIMFONI 2024

The Faculty of Economics and Business at Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) has admitted 605 new undergraduate students for 2024. This number includes 447 students in the regular program and 158 in the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). All new students will participate in the Faculty of Economics and Business Student Socialization and Initiation (SIMFONI) activities over two days, from July 31 to August 1, 2024. This year’s SIMFONI theme is “Strong Young Gadjah Mada Leaders in the Structuring of National Sustainability.”

“Welcome to all new FEB UGM students of 2024. Welcome to the campus of the people, the campus of struggle, and the campus that will become your second home for gaining knowledge and developing yourselves,” said the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., C.A., welcoming the new students at the SIMFONI event on Wednesday (31/7) at the FEB UGM Plaza.

Didi explained that FEB is the first business school in Indonesia accredited by AACSB International in 2014. In 2024, FEB UGM has maintained this accreditation for the second time and ensured that all Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral Programs are accredited by AACSB, placing it among the top 6 percent of elite business schools worldwide. Additionally, at the national level in 2024, FEB UGM’s study programs are accredited as Excellent by LAMEMBA.

“I want to congratulate all of you who have successfully passed the rigorous selection process and joined the FEB UGM family,” he said.

Didi explained that FEB UGM is committed to nurturing future leaders in economics and business to develop sustainability aspects. Through a continually updated and future-oriented curriculum supported by competent lecturers, FEB UGM can produce graduates who are not only intellectually intelligent but also possess high integrity and social awareness. “We believe that you, the new students, are young pioneers who will bring positive changes for the nation and the world,” he emphasized.

Didi hopes new students will maximize the opportunity to learn, innovate, and develop into excellent individuals. Students are expected to become agents of change who positively impact society. Furthermore, students are also likely to synergize their intellectual spirit to achieve outstanding achievements and bring glory to FEB UGM at national and international levels.

“Enjoy the series of PIONIR PPSMB Simfoni FEB UGM 2024 events. Use this opportunity to learn more about the campus environment, build friendships, and prepare yourselves for an exciting and challenging academic journey at FEB UGM,” he concluded.

In a conversation with new students, Kadja Elyoenai Kale Lado, a student from Kupang-NTT, expressed his happiness and pride at being accepted into the Accounting program at FEB UGM. He is grateful to have been accepted at FEB UGM, the best business school in Indonesia, and to be nationally and internationally accredited.

Muhammad Amri, a new student in the Accounting program, expressed similar sentiments. He is very grateful to be able to study at his dream campus. His desire to continue his studies at FEB strengthened after participating in the Gadjah Mada Accounting Days (GMAD). Therefore, he was pleased when he was declared accepted into FEB UGM.
