Family Fun Evening 2024

To celebrate its 69th anniversary, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held a Family Fun Evening (FFE) with the theme “Nyore Hore di FEB” on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The event was held at FEB UGM, and all academic community members, professional staff, FEB UGM alumni, and their families were invited. FFE became even more festive with various exciting activities from the evening until the night.

The Dean of FEB UGM, Didi Achjari, Prof. Dr., M.Com., Ak., CA., said that this year’s anniversary is a special moment for all members of FEB UGM. As an institution operating for almost seven decades, FEB UGM has gone through various dynamics and developed and remained one of the leading educational institutions in the field of economics and business in Indonesia. This success is undoubtedly due to the contribution of all elements within the faculty, including lecturers, professional staff, students, and strong support from alumni.

“This Family Fun Evening is our way of expressing our appreciation to the entire FEB UGM family. Amid our busy academic and professional activities, it is important to take a moment to gather and feel the warmth of togetherness,” he said in his speech at the FFE 2024 on Saturday (14/9) evening.

Didi added that the FFE strengthens the bonds of friendship and celebrates the solidarity and kinship that has always been a hallmark of the FEB UGM.

“I hope this event can be a moment to revive our spirit, strengthen our sense of belonging to this faculty, and motivate us all to continue to contribute to the advancement of FEB UGM in the future,” he said.

FFE started with an evening exercise and fun games at the FEB UGM plaza. In the evening, the event atmosphere became more lively with the performance of “Ketoprak Labuh Katresnan”, a traditional Javanese drama starring FEB UGM faculty and professional staff. Aside from the Ketoprak performance, FEB UGM featured the Keroncong music group Paksi Band and an Angklung performance by FEB UGM Dharma Wanita Persatuan, adding more joy to this year’s FFE.

The event also featured various traditional foods and drinks for all participants at the food stalls. FFE was made even more festive with hundreds of door prizes. The event’s highlight was announcing the grand prize for six lucky employees. The door prizes were drawn openly and included three attractive prizes: a 50-inch TV, two electric bicycles, and three electric motorcycles. There were also prizes for the winners of the photo contest. The event concluded with the Paksi Band entertaining the attendees with several songs.

One of the staff members who participated in the Ketoprak performance, Cindy Rachma Ulta Harisandy, expressed her joy at being able to join the FEB UGM Anniversary every year.

“I hope this event can be further improved, with more door prizes and a mix of modern and traditional performances like the Ketoprak and the band earlier, so that participants can be more enthusiastic about attending the FFE event next year,” she said.

Another staff member, Intarini Swandri, shared similar sentiments. She was happy to join the FFE held for the first time this year. Previously, similar events were held from morning to afternoon under Family Fun Day (FFD).
“This event usually runs from morning to afternoon, so this is the first year it runs from afternoon to night. However, this event was already perfect and fun, with faculty and staff collaborating on the performances,” she explained.
