The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), is exploring research collaboration with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
This potential partnership was discussed during RMIT's visit to FEB UGM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Kertanegara Room of FEB UGM. The RMIT delegation, led by Prof. Yuli Suseno, Deputy Dean, Teaching and Learning, School of Management, was welcomed by Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., FEB UGM's Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration and Alumni Affairs.
In his remarks, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo expressed his hope that this meeting would pave the way for future research collaborations and other areas of cooperation. "I hope this visit can be the starting point for broader partnerships in the future, especially for FEB UGM," he said on Tuesday (15/10).
Gumilang also highlighted the significant increase in publications at FEB UGM, with a growth of 25 percent in the past year. He hoped that RMIT's visit would provide an opportunity to share knowledge on the latest research from both institutions.
"This visit is also expected to serve as a platform for mutual learning of new research from our researchers," Gumilang added.
During the visit, both institutions shared their research agendas and provided an overview of their ongoing research activities. RMIT, FEB UGM, and UGM Vocational School presented their current research initiatives, collaborations with other institutions, and potential areas of overlap. One research focus shared by FEB UGM and RMIT is digital technology and cryptocurrency. In addition, FEB UGM presented a new concentration in the MM FEB UGM program, "Sustainability Management", which was launched this semester.
The event also featured research presentations divided into two panels. The first panel focused on digital entrepreneurship and knowledge and human resource management, while the second panel focused on digital marketing, digital transformation, technology, and the digital economy. A forum discussion and a question and answer session followed the presentations. The event concluded with a networking session and a sandwich discussion.
