Building a business with significant funding is often possible. But Pranowo Sukantyoso Putro, an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM, has proven otherwise. During the Alumni Sharing Session at the 8th floor of FEB UGM's Learning Centre Building on Monday, 18 November 2024, he shared his successful strategies for building bootstrap-based startups, inspiring many young entrepreneurs.
A graduate in economics, Pranowo is currently the managing director of Solutionlabs Group Indonesia. He shared his over a decade of experience building several bootstrap-based startups in the digital technology sector, including PT Transisi Teknologi Mandiri, PT Tonjoo Gagas Teknologi, and PT Solutionlabs Group Indonesia.
Pranowo explained the concept of building a bootstrapped startup - starting a business with minimal initial capital, without venture capital support, and relying solely on personal funds or company revenues. He shared his journey in setting up PT Tonjoo Gagas Teknologi, which operated without external funding and relied entirely on the company's cash flow for day-to-day operations.
