Contributing to this problem are industrial activities that operate without regard to environmental impact, resulting in millions of tons of CO₂ emissions annually. The Indonesian government plans to implement a carbon trading scheme to encourage industries to reduce emissions.

Five Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM students have successfully transformed cocoa beans into high-quality cosmetic products. The product, called Kakolie Beauty, was developed using cocoa beans that had yet to be fully optimized. It transformed them into body care products that naturally lighten the skin, prevent fine lines, and are suitable for sensitive skin.
