The entire family of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) is grieving because they have lost one of their best teachers, Dr. Akhmad Makhfatih, M.A., a Lecturer at the Department of Economics, on Wednesday (21/12). The deceased breathed his last at around 23.00 WIB at the age of 59 at Dr. Sardjito Hospital. The funeral home is located on Jl. Tengiri Raya No. 17, Minomartani, Ngaglik. Sleman, and the body was buried at Sasono Loyo Mlandangan Cemetery on Thursday (22/12) at 09.00 WIB.
Dr. Akhmad Makhfatih, M.A. was born in Batang on March 27, 1963. He took the Bachelor of Economics Program at FEB UGM and graduated in 1986. Then, he continued his Master of Arts studies at The University of Manitoba, Canada, and graduated in 1991. Subsequently, He studied his doctoral degree in economics at UGM from 2005 to 2008. He began teaching staff at FEB UGM from 7 August 1987 until the end of his life.
During his career at FEB UGM, Dr. Akhmad Makhfatih served as Head of the MEP FEB UGM Study Program in the 2009-2010 period. Dr. Akhmad Makhfatih was also awarded the Satya Lencana Karya Satya XX from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2007, 25 Years of Loyalty from UGM in 2012, and the Satya Lencana Karya Satya XXX from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019. Of course not only that, all of the contributions made by him to FEB UGM in various forms of publications, research grants, and other awards are very beneficial and set an example for all of us.
Farewell, Dr. Akhmad Makhfatih, M.A. We will never forget all of your services. Let’s pray that the deceased will die husnul khatimah, his grave be widened, and be given the best place in the sight of Allah SWT. May the entire family left behind be given strength and fortitude. Amen YRA.
