
The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), welcomed a visit from the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC) on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Integrated Office of FEB UGM. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for international collaboration between universities in Texas and educational partners in Indonesia, including FEB UGM.
TIEC is an educational consortium that offers a global membership program to connect and assist international partners in building educational collaborations through various programs.
TIEC’s Global Membership Manager, Antonie Battle, introduced several collaborative programs during the meeting, encouraging international partners to develop curriculum development, student exchanges, faculty exchanges, virtual exchanges, and joint research initiatives.
He also highlighted the rapid growth of Indonesia’s financial technology (FinTech) sector, emphasizing the QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) payment system as one of the country’s most inclusive and adaptive digital financial innovations.
Arizona Mustikarini, Ph.D., Head of the Global Relations and Mobility Unit (GREAT) at FEB UGM, warmly welcomed the TIEC visit and the collaboration opportunities presented. She stated that the meeting was a valuable platform for exchanging insights and exploring potential strategic partnerships with higher education institutions in the United States, particularly in academic and research fields.
The visit also reflects FEB UGM’s commitment to expanding its international network to enrich a higher education ecosystem that is open and responsive to global challenges.
