The Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM), through the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU), is once again providing free breakfast and psychological counseling services via the Mood Booster program for students currently sitting the Mid-Term Exams (UTS) for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The program runs from 6 to 17 April 2026 as part of the faculty’s commitment to supporting student well-being.
The Vice-Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., stated that the program not only addresses physical needs but also mental health. This initiative aims to help students stay focused, maintain their energy, and reduce stress during the exam period.
“This is FEB UGM’s commitment to encouraging students to succeed in their exams,” he said on Thursday (9 April 2026) at FEB UGM.
Bayu added that FEB UGM also provides psychological support for students sitting exams. This service is designed to offer mental support to students to help them avoid anxiety and other psychological issues during the exam period.
The program has received a positive response from students. One of them, Dimas Prasetyo, a 2025 cohort student on the Accounting Program who has benefited from the program, explained that the ‘Mood Booster’ initiative, which provides free breakfast, helps him reduce his expenses and improve his focus during exams.
“Usually I have to spend money on breakfast, but with this program I can save more,” he said.
A similar view was expressed by Muhammad Nabil Ramadan, a 2025 Economics student, who believes the program helps meet his needs during exams.
“On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give this program an 8 because it’s really helpful, especially for students living in halls of residence. I don’t have to worry about breakfast, and I have more energy, so I can still perform well in my exams,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Gadiza Mutia Shalahuddin, a Management student from the 2025 cohort, said that the free breakfast program, provided amid exam pressure, offers a special boost.
“Amidst the stress of studying, having this food provides a small but very meaningful joy,” she said.
Overall, the Mood Booster program not only helps students practically but also provides vital emotional support during the exam period. Through a combination of nutritional intake and psychological support, FEB UGM hopes students can tackle their mid-term exams more effectively and achieve the best possible results.
