Mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis Universitas Gadjah Mada Juara 1 Management Competition 2025

The Winners team from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), successfully secured 1st place in the 2025 Management Competition. Yogyakarta (FBE UAJY). The Management Study Program Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta (FBE UAJY), organized the competition on March 22, 2025.

The Winners team consisted of Ericha Mellyana, Rr. Hadijah Putri Jasmine and Ershendo Deska Christyawan are students from the Management Study Program, Class of 2023. They won the competition after beating 44 other teams from various universities across Indonesia.

Ericha shared that the competition had several challenging stages. In the first stage, all teams had to complete a case study through quizzes and material presentations. Next, participants had to submit a case proposal in Indonesian. The teams that advanced to the next round then submitted PowerPoint presentations and delivered their final presentations in English.

“We are grateful and proud to have won this competition, especially after competing against teams from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Ciputra in the final round,” she said recently.

Ericha further explained that in the final round, all finalists analyzed a case study about a technology-based startup specializing in goat milk processing. This startup faced various business challenges, particularly creating a sustainable (downstream) and innovative ecosystem. Participants faced the challenge of developing strategic solutions to improve the startup’s business efficiency while also enhancing the well-being of everyone involved in its supply chain.

During the competition, Ericha and her team faced several challenges. One of the main difficulties was their initial lack of knowledge about the goat milk processing industry.

“Our knowledge of goat milk processing was limited, making it harder to conduct a realistic analysis in formulating strategies. However, our team was able to analyze the issue from different perspectives, which allowed us to overcome this challenge,” she concluded.
