Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) have achieved an outstanding international accomplishment. The Dynamo Consulting team, consisting of Nathaniel Christianto Kuniardi (Accounting, 2023), Gildas Sebastian Satriatama Sitompul (Accounting, 2023), Rr. Hadijah Puteri Jasmine (Management, 2023) and Ericha Mellyana (Management, 2023), under the supervision of Azellia Alma Shafira, S.E., M.Sc., secured first Place in the International Social Business Case Competition Creative Shock 2025, held in Lithuania.
The competition, which took Place from 20–23 November 2025, featured top finalists from various countries, including Lithuania, Serbia, India, Indonesia, and the United States. The Students’ Association of ISM University organised it at the ISM University of Management and Economics in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Ericha explained that the competition comprised two main phases: the preliminary round and the final round. Participants initially faced two different cases in succession.
The first case was a financial case from ŠUNYS ASISTENTAI, an organization that provides assistance dog training to support the mobility of people with disabilities. Participants designed a sustainable funding scheme to enable the organisation to continue operating and increase its impact.
The second case originated from Pilnos Širdys, a social enterprise that empowers people with disabilities through the production of paper and books. Participants developed a marketing strategy designed to increase awareness and drive product conversions effectively.
Nine of the best teams advanced to the final round, where they faced a new marketing challenge involving the SPEAK platform. This organisation facilitates language-learning interactions between Lithuanians and foreigners,” she said.
At this stage, the participants needed to design a strategy for attracting more local volunteers to act as language tutors. The top five teams then qualified for the grand final, where they worked on a financial case from Innovator Valley, a creative space with diverse initiatives that required a long-term and sustainable economic model.
Ericha shared that the biggest challenge throughout the competition was understanding the cultural and geographical context of Lithuania. She noted that strategies could not be generalized from an Indonesian perspective, requiring additional analysis to ensure the solutions were truly relevant and implementable in the local setting. Language use during the presentation also became a crucial factor, as all ideas needed to be delivered clearly and engagingly to judges from diverse backgrounds.
“We are grateful for this achievement. Traveling abroad for the first time, advancing to the final round, and winning an international competition are incredibly valuable and proud moments for FEB, UGM, and Indonesia,” she said.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the support of their supervising lecturer and the GMB Case Club, which provided intensive mentoring during the preparation for the final round.
