This year, this competition was followed by 14 representative teams of universities involving judges from corporate executives and experts in the fields of business and corporate.
The Critical One team managed to beat 14 teams from various other universities. With this victory, the Critical One Team will represent Indonesia in a similar event for the Asia Pacific level business competition in the international Business Case Competition. on May 30 to June 3, 2021.
Alexander Tjhung as team leader said that the competition they participated in was actually one of the leading business competitions in Indonesia and in the world arena. The competition mechanism is the distribution of real business cases to each participant, after which each participant is asked to provide recommendations for solutions to these problems and present them. "Business cases from various international companies and sometimes also public cases, policies of a country, and many more," said Alex, Monday (5/4).
The victory this team got was not an instant result. Before participating in this business competition, according to Alex, the four of them had made preparations from a year ago because this competition was eliminated in 2020 due to a pandemic. "Finally we went back to the 2021 competition which was held online," he said.
Even though held by online, Alex said that his team continues to train independently and is more active in consulting with lecturers, mentors and alumni. Luckily, their efforts are not in vain with the achievements they have achieved. "We got extraordinary support from the faculty during the preparation for the competition," he explained.
During the competition, presentations were delivered in English. In the final round, FEB UGM team managed to beat three other teams, namely the team from President University, Padjajaran University and Binus University. After successfully becoming the winner, Alex said that his team had gained valuable experience in devising strategies to win the competition. This experience will help him in formulating a strategy in the competition at the international level. "From this competition, we learned to develop a prioritized scale, from each problem that arises, in order to solve the most crucial problems first. In addition, we are increasingly aware that discipline and positive thinking can lead us to achieve our dreams of winning, ”said Alex.
Facing the next competition at the international level in the next two months, Alex said he and his team would make better preparations so that they could win and make Indonesia proud. "Of course we will practice harder to make Indonesia and UGM proud in the international arena with the support of mentors," he said.
To be able to become a winner in the competition, according to him, is not easy. However, Alex remains optimistic that with determination and strong conviction, along with maximum efforts, achievements will certainly be achieved. "At the Asia Pacific level competition we represent Indonesia, we will carry a big responsibility. We need to make preparations even harder, "he concluded.
