Yuk, Coba 3 Kafe Keren Hasil Inovasi Mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis Universitas Gadjah Mada!

Looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while studying? Want to hang out with friends? Or simply craving delicious snacks? FEB UGM students have introduced three vibrant cafés on campus—Naroo, Soakin, and MilkyMoo—offering exceptional flavors and a study-friendly ambiance.

With modern concepts, comfortable environments, and diverse menus, these cafés not only provide a unique culinary experience but also embody sustainability and creativity in entrepreneurship. Let’s get to know them!

Student Innovation
These cafés are the result of the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of FEB UGM students through the 2025 FEB UGM Economics and Business Café Management Grant Program. This initiative serves as a platform for students to develop business acumen, encompassing areas such as marketing, human resource management, and sustainable business operations.

“Through this grant program, we encourage students to innovate and unleash their entrepreneurial creativity. Participation in this program equips them with essential future-ready skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, teamwork, and leadership,” said Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni at FEB UGM, during a statement on Tuesday (2/24/2025) at the FEB UGM campus.

Gumilang explained that each year, FEB UGM hosts the Business Management Grant Competition, enabling students to develop marketable products and services. The top three teams receive the opportunity to manage their businesses on campus for a year, supported by faculty funding.

“Through this program, we aspire to nurture resilient and innovative young entrepreneurs. This aligns with our faculty’s mission to cultivate future leaders in economics and business who will drive sustainability,” he added.

Naroo: A Pioneer in Cakes and Desserts on Campus
Established in 2022, Naroo began as part of the Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW) and quickly gained popularity across faculties, even beyond UGM.

Founded by Octavia Rachmadani (Accounting, 2021), Wahyu Devi Setyawati (Accounting, 2021), Maslikhatul Umami (Accounting, 2021), Wandana Karuna Pradopo (Accounting, 2021), and Ghina Shabrina (Accounting, 2022), Naroo specializes in premium cakes and desserts with a creative twist.

Their signature menu features cheesecake, brownies, carrot cake, and cinnamon rolls, alongside natural matcha drinks sweetened with stevia. With its vibrant and aesthetically pleasing ambiance, Naroo is the perfect destination to indulge in sweet treats while enhancing your mood and productivity on campus.

Soakin: Promoting Sustainability & Mental Wellness
More than just a coffee shop, Soakin is committed to sustainability and mental well-being. Their “Your Favorite Cup Makes This Beautiful Dustbin” recycling initiative, along with discounts for customers who bring their own Soakin cups, encourages eco-conscious habits. Additionally, each cup features Instagrammable designs with uplifting messages, fostering a positive atmosphere for customers.

Founded by Muhammad Sukron Mahfud (Management, 2022), Firman Fauzi Hermanto (Management, 2022), Ahmad Zida Niam (Management, 2022), Muhammad Revelli Prana Ramadhan (Management, 2022), and Ghiyats Thariq Al-Haq (Accounting, 2022), Soakin offers a selection of pastries, including donuts, cookies, and sandwiches, as well as a variety of milk-based, coffee, and tea beverages.

Through its innovative approach, Soakin aims to be a space where customers can enjoy high-quality coffee while finding inspiration. Its sustainable business model also encourages customers to minimize plastic waste and contribute to a greener environment.

MilkyMoo: Healthy & Eco-Friendly Delights
If you’re searching for nutritious beverages and snacks, MilkyMoo is the ideal choice! This café serves a variety of milk-based drinks, crispy egg waffles, and creamy ice cream.

What sets MilkyMoo apart is its commitment to using 100% pure milk, carefully processed to retain its nutritional value. The café also offers a live preparation concept, allowing customers to watch their orders being freshly made.

Beyond its regular menu, MilkyMoo introduces seasonal specials for occasions such as Ramadan, Christmas, and Halloween. Managed by Amanda Divanty (Management, 2022), Rashid Abinaya Rahman (Management, 2022), Maria Erika Widierasti (Management, 2022), Farah Erfa Nafisyah (Management, 2022), and Yusuf Juve Rifai (Management, 2022), the café is also dedicated to environmental sustainability. It collaborates with student-run waste management organizations to ensure responsible waste disposal. By supporting MilkyMoo, customers not only enjoy delicious and healthy treats but also contribute to sustainability efforts.

Now that you’ve learned about these three student-run café innovations at FEB UGM, are you excited to give them a try? Visit Naroo, Soakin, and MilkyMoo today to experience their unique flavors! Student organizations, faculty clubs, and the FEB UGM student government (BEM & BPM) are also encouraged to collaborate with these cafés to further support the student entrepreneurship ecosystem.
