The Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) continues strengthening its commitment to achieving a sustainable campus. One of these efforts is initiating various water conservation programmes involving the academic community.
The Head of the FEB UGM Administration Office, Nur Bakti Susilo, S.E., Ak., CA., ASEAN CPA., conveyed several water conservation efforts carried out by FEB UGM, including educating the entire academic community on water conservation through posters, social media, and appeals for wise water use. Water conservation efforts at FEB UGM are realised by installing efficient plumbing devices, including a dual flush toilet. In the future, FEB UGM will also install Smart Meters to monitor water usage.
FEB has initiated the creation of biopores and infiltration wells on the FEB UGM campus. This step was taken to maintain groundwater availability and reduce the risk of flooding during the rainy season. FEB UGM also planted trees to green the campus and increase groundwater absorption.
“Water conservation is an important part of achieving environmental sustainability. FEB UGM is committed to making the campus comfortable to support learning activities and environmentally friendly,” he explained on Friday (7/02/2025).
Through these various initiatives, FEB UGM strengthens its contribution to achieving sustainable development goals, particularly Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. FEB UGM also reaffirms its role as a higher education institution that cares about environmental conservation while nurturing a young generation with a green mindset.
