The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), held a briefing session for students receiving the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) Scholarship. The event served as an essential platform to provide students with academic, psychological, and financial insights, ensuring they are well-prepared to complete their studies successfully.
Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, emphasized that the event was not merely a socialization forum, but also a space for sharing experiences and knowledge. He noted that FEB UGM is committed to supporting all of its students, including KIP-K recipients, in completing their education.
“FEB UGM is committed to providing the best services for all students, regardless of their tuition fee category (UKT),” he stated during the FEBinvinity: Briefing for KIP-K Recipients held on Saturday (20/09/2025) at the Learning Center Auditorium, FEB UGM.
Bayu also highlighted that study program coordinators are ready to assist students facing challenges during their studies. Furthermore, FEB UGM stands prepared to assist students in urgent need, especially when KIP-K payments experience delays. Students are encouraged to contact the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU) for assistance.
Wieda Herdiana, S.S., M.Sc., Head of Academic and Student Affairs Working Group, explained that the KIP-K scholarship applies from semesters 1 to 8. Students who have not completed their studies by the end of semesters nine and ten are subject to tuition fees (UKT). However, a 50% reduction applies if students enroll in their thesis and take no more than six credits of theory courses. Academic evaluations are also conducted in semesters 4 and 8 to assess course completion and remind students of their obligation to report their educational status each semester as part of their ongoing academic progress.
Wieda further stressed the importance of early preparation for the final thesis and encouraged students to take advantage of the many development opportunities offered by FEB UGM, such as internships for Accounting and Economics undergraduates and leadership programs for Management students. These opportunities align with the academic team’s offerings. During their studies, students are also expected to utilize campus facilities fully, attend academic advising sessions, and regularly review graduation requirements and curricula.
The briefing also featured materials from the UGM Directorate of Student Affairs, which explained the legal basis of KIP-K, admission schemes, as well as the rights and obligations of scholarship recipients. Students were also introduced to financial literacy, covering budgeting tips, managing living costs, and strategies to live frugally yet comfortably while maximizing the use of KIP-K funds.
One of the most inspiring moments came from Apia Dewi Agustin, a KIP-K recipient from Magetan. She shared her journey, admitting that she had never imagined studying at UGM, let alone speaking in a forum like this. Carrying the theme “Limitations That Never Limit,” Apia underscored that everyone has their own limitations, but only those who dare to rise above them will discover limitless possibilities. Her message served as both a reminder and motivation for all participants that limitations are not an endpoint but rather a doorway to new opportunities.
