
The Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) held a Firefighting Training on Friday (17/10) at the FEB UGM Master of Management Campus in Yogyakarta. This activity was attended by 90 professional staff from various work units and student representatives from FEB UGM.
The training aimed to enhance the preparedness and capabilities of professional staff and students in responding to emergencies, particularly fires on campus. Participants received theoretical explanations of the causes of fires, the types of fire extinguishers, and how to use them effectively, as well as safe and effective initial response measures. After the theoretical session, the training continued with a live fire extinguishing simulation.
The Head of the FEB UGM Administration Office, Nur Bakti Susilo, S.E., Ak., CA., Asean CPA., CTIA., said that this activity is part of the faculty’s commitment to building a safe, responsive, and safety-conscious work environment.
“We want to ensure that all employees have a basic understanding and skills in dealing with emergencies, especially fires. With this training, it is hoped that each individual can act quickly, appropriately, and remain calm when facing such risks,” he explained.
He added that this kind of activity will continue to be carried out regularly. This aligns with FEB UGM’s efforts to promote a culture of work safety throughout the faculty.
