The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada Alumni Association (KAFEGAMA) and FEB UGM held the KAFEGAMA Charity Concert to raise funds for scholarships and humanitarian aid for disaster victims in Sumatra. The concert took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Yogyakarta.
At that moment, KAFEGAMA handed over a scholarship donation of Rp 250 million to FEB UGM. The handover was carried out symbolically by the Chair of the KAFEGAMA Central Board, Dr. Friderica Widyasari Dewi, S.E., M.B.A., to the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., CA.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian fundraising campaign for communities affected by disasters in Sumatra, which has been open since December 1, 2025, has successfully raised IDR 525,800,000. Donations will continue until December 10, 2025.
The Chair of the KAFEGAMA Central Board, Dr. Friderica Widyasari Dewi, S.E., M.B.A., explained that this charity concert was a call to empathize and take concrete action to help communities affected by disasters in the Sumatra region. She also specifically invited the entire FEB UGM family to donate to ease the burden on flood and landslide victims, particularly in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
“This event would be meaningless if we did not empathize with what has happened to our brothers and sisters who have been affected by the disaster. Let us pray that the post-disaster recovery process will run safely and smoothly, and that the communities in the affected areas will continue to be blessed with strength, patience, and fortitude,” said Kiki, Friderica’s nickname.
The humanitarian action and tangible impact of this charity concert reaffirm KAFEGAMA’s commitment to being a “Migunani” or beneficial organization. Kiki revealed the impact of the alumni’s humanitarian action, which involved distributing Rp80 million in aid to 400 beneficiaries through active collaboration with seven KAFEGAMA Regional Management branches. Then, KAFEGAMA distributed scholarship assistance amounting to Rp80 million to FEB UGM students. This effort is an investment by alums to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder future talents from achieving their goals.
“This event is a realization of the organization’s motto, ‘Guyub Rukun Migunani’. At the age of 10, KAFEGAMA needs energy, ideas, and contributions from all of us to move towards the next decade,” explained Kiki.
The Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., CA., expressed his gratitude for the alums’s contribution in supporting FEB UGM students through the scholarship program. He emphasized that alumni support plays a vital role in maintaining the continuity of FEB UGM students’ studies. According to him, collaboration between the faculty and alumni is an essential pillar in realizing inclusive and sustainable higher education.
“Thank you for the support from alumni so far, both through scholarship programs and internships for students,” he said.
Didi added that the KAFEGAMA Charity Concert was not only a means of raising scholarship funds, but also a form of shared concern to help disaster victims in Sumatra. According to him, this initiative demonstrates that collaboration between alums and institutions can yield broad benefits, both for the world of education and for communities in need of assistance. He hopes that this activity can become a sustainable agenda that continues to strengthen the alum network while expanding the social impact of FEB UGM.
The chair of the KAFEGAMA Charity Concert Committee, Tur Nastiti, M.Si., Ph.D., stated that the concert, featuring Sheila on 7 and Jikustik, was one of the efforts to raise funds. The funds raised will be used to provide scholarships for FEB UGM students and distributed to support communities affected by disasters in Aceh, Sumatra Barat, and Sumatra Utara.
“All donations will be allocated entirely to students and our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster in Sumatra,” he explained.
The event, attended by more than 3,000 participants, marked the closing of the 70th Anniversary, the 14th Lustrum of FEB UGM, and a decade of KAFEGAMA. The concert was held free of charge for the extended family of FEB UGM, including alums from various generations, lecturers, professional staff, students, and KAFEGAMA administrators, as well as facilitating the needs of participants with disabilities. In its implementation, this concert also involved 16 MSMEs from Yogyakarta and Malang, as well as students, who were part of the committee and event implementation team. Previously, each Regional Committee (Pengda) of KAFEGAMA in various regions had also organized social service activities in their respective areas to strengthen the spirit of sharing.
