Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) turns 62 in 2017. Established since 19 September 1955, FEB UGM has strong commitment to create the best graduates every year. FEB UGM always attempts to self-improve and achieve both national and international accomplishment. The 62nd DIES NATALIS (Anniversary) FEB UGM major theme is “Meeting Global Challenges with Local Wisdom to Serve the Community”. Several activities have been held to celebrate this anniversary. Both academic and social events have been organized to promote local wisdom. Social activities such as the distribution of clean water in Gunungkidul, health check for community, and others have been run successfully. Traditional events held to celebrate the anniversary as the form of local wisdom practice and community service.

International Academic events such as Gadjah Mada International Conference on Economics and Business (GAMAICEB), International Week (iWeek), and International Summer University (ISU) have also been held. The participants from around ASEAN countries took part in that paper conference. More than a hundred students from ASEAN, Korea, Japan and Europe participated in short academic events, iWeek and ISU. Ministrial Lecture from Indonesian Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, S.E., M.S., Ph.D held as a part of activities of the 62nd DIES NATALIS FEB UGM. The topic raised is “Mewujudkan Anggaran Negara yang Berkeadilan Sosial”, delivered in front of more than 700 UGM students on 23 August 2017. Other than that, FEB UGM installed a new chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), an International Honor Society founded in 1913 serving business program accredited by AACSB International. The BGS Chapter at FEB UGM will be the first chapter in Indonesia, and the fifth in ASEAN after the chapter installment at National University of Singapore (2006), Singapore Management University (2013), Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University (2013) and Universiti Utara Malaysia (2017). This success will eventually bring positive impact to enhance the reputation of FEB UGM students and graduates once they enter in job market.

The peak of the 62nd DIES NATALIS FEB UGM is the public senate meeting in Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium, Master of Management FEB UGM on Tuesday, 19 September 2017. On that occassion, Prof. Dr. Suwardjono, M.Sc., Ak., CA. delivered scientific speech titled “Kesatuan Akuntansi sebagai Fiksi Hukum Pertanggungjelasan Keuangan”.
