The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), officially conferred professional accountant status on 34 graduates during the 24th Graduation Ceremony of the Professional Accounting Program (PPAk) on Friday (June 29) at the Learning Center Auditorium, FEB UGM. Of the graduates, 27 earned the Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, while 7 obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
Several graduates received special recognition for their outstanding academic achievements and accomplishments during their studies. Two graduates earned cum laude honors: Janice Ekasanti Santoso, who achieved a GPA of 3.82 and completed the program in 1 year and 9 days, and Batari Putri Andika, who graduated with a GPA of 3.77 after 1 year, 7 months, and 26 days of study.
The Fastest Study Completion Award was presented to Janice Ekasanti Santoso and Ni Putu Lia Victoria, both of whom completed the program in just 1 year and 9 days. Meanwhile, the Highest GPA Awards were presented to Muhammad Raihan Alwany (GPA 3.84; study period of 3 years, 1 month, and 22 days), Janice Ekasanti Santoso (GPA 3.82; 1 year and 9 days), Aditya Wisnu Candra Nugraha (GPA 3.82; 4 years, 2 months, and 23 days), and Batari Putri Andika (GPA 3.77; 1 year, 7 months, and 26 days).
Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Didi Achjari, encouraged the graduates to remain committed to advancing knowledge and technology throughout their professional careers.
“In carrying out your professional responsibilities, always prioritize awareness and responsibility for the welfare of Indonesian society, especially in contributing to the nation’s intellectual development,” he said.
Head of the Professional Accounting Program, Arizona Mustikarini, emphasized that the professional title the graduates now bear is not merely a symbol of academic achievement but also a significant responsibility in their professional lives. She urged the graduates to uphold the good name of their alma mater wherever they go while maintaining integrity, objectivity, and professional ethics.
“Be adaptive and innovative agents of change, and become future leaders who make meaningful contributions to promoting transparency, accountability, and sustainable development for the advancement of the nation and humanity,” Arizona added.
Representing the graduates, Ruth Octaviani P. Wermasubun reminded her fellow graduates that everyone has faced different challenges throughout their academic journey. She noted that these experiences had taught them that success always requires sacrifice.
“There is no success without a price to pay. Dreams remain only dreams without effort. Never expect great results without making great sacrifices, and be proud that this journey has taken place at the right institution, the Professional Accounting Program of FEB UGM,” she said.
With the addition of these 34 new graduates, the Professional Accounting Program of FEB UGM has now produced a cumulative total of 2,634 professional accountants who contribute across various sectors, including industry, government institutions, public accounting firms, and academia, both nationally and internationally.
