The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), held an Introduction and Dialogue Forum for Dean Candidates for the 2026–2031 Term on Monday (27/7) at the 8th Floor Auditorium of the Learning Center Building, FEB UGM.
The forum featured three dean candidates who had successfully passed the administrative document screening and verification stage. Listed alphabetically by first name, the candidates are Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., Muhammad Ryan Sanjaya, S.E., M.Int.Dev.Ec., Ph.D., and Rimawan Pradiptyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Chair of the Selection Committee for the Dean Candidates of FEB UGM for the 2026–2031 Term, Suyanto, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., explained that the forum was designed to introduce the dean candidates to FEB UGM’s permanent faculty members, provide a platform for communication and dialogue, and promote transparency and participation among the academic community throughout the selection process. The event was also intended to foster a constructive, respectful, and conducive atmosphere.
“Through this forum, faculty members are allowed to engage in direct dialogue and raise questions regarding each candidate’s presentation,” he said.
Suyanto emphasized that the forum was not intended as a platform for evaluation, ranking, campaigning, voting, or decision-making. Instead, the event was designed to facilitate open dialogue while upholding academic ethics and maintaining a constructive environment.
Each candidate was allotted up to 15 minutes to introduce themselves and present their proposed five-year work program. Permanent faculty members attending the forum were also allowed to share their aspirations, feedback, and questions with the candidates.
The Introduction and Dialogue Forum is one of the key stages in the Selection Process for the Dean of FEB UGM for the 2026–2031 Term. The subsequent stages include submitting the screening results to the Faculty Senate from 22 July to 4 August 2026, a special Faculty Senate meeting from 5 to 19 August 2026, and submitting the selected dean candidate to the University on 21–22 August 2026.
