UGM Visual Identity: Compotition and Usability

On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, Faculty of Economics and Business UGM held a sharing session about UGM visual identity by presenting speaker, Wijayanti, S.IP., M.Sc. from Office of Institutional Relations, UGM. The aims of sharing session is to harmonize a perception regarding to use of visual identity. This agenda/event was opened by Dean, Dr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc.
It is a matter of course that visual identity is the face of an institution and UGM has set the use of it in various things. "The university has regulated the use of visual and parallel identity which has been issued in the rules of the administration of official texts," said Wijayanti whose name usually called Wiwit. She also explained the procedure to use UGM symbols and logos and in what segments it can be used.
Added by the woman who graduated from the Master of Science and Doctoral Study Program Faculty of Economic and Business UGM that so far the variation in the use of visual identity at UGM is very high, and responding to this, UGM has launched a guideline to use the visual identity through the brand.ugm.ac.id page. She also said that the Faculty of Economic and Business UGM is one of the references in building visual identity guidelines. "Faculty of Economic and Business UGM is one of our references because of the consistent use of corporate color and appearance in the web," said the woman who was the Secretary of the University.
In the next segment, Unit of Public Relation and Information Technology (IT) FEB UGM presented about visual identity design at the FEB UGM which is find on FEB UGM page or media social. Until now, technology information and public relation doing to continues improvement visual identity of FEB UGM not much variations.
Sharing session which held on this half day followed by professional staff from faculty office and study program at FEB UGM. They are staff from public relation, secretariat, technology information and promotion.
"In the future, it is necessary to develop mores rules regarding the re-branding of each unit son that it can reach even," said Kusdhianto Setiawan, Ph.D., Vice Dean of Finance, Asset and Human Resource,. In the closing, Kusdhianto Setiawan, Ph.D. hoped that this training will open the insight more into the importance of visual identity and it can be applied in each unit within FEB UGM.
