The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) continues to develop various educational facilities to support both teaching and learning activities. At present, one of the facilities developed is class facilities so that they can better adapt to the needs of future generations.
To make this happen, the support of facilities that can accommodate the needs of the faculty is very much needed. One of them is furniture and supporting equipment where located on the 7th Floor of Pertamina Tower FEB UGM Building. FEB UGM received assistance from Kafegama '56 and H. D. Harahap's family to carry out class repairs on the 5th and 7th floors of the Pertamina Tower Building. The development of this class facility carries the concept of collaborative class room. The development of this class will increase the capacity of classrooms on the 7th floor, where currently there are one class added to two classes, and can accommodate around 36 to 42 people. The development of this space considers several aspects, such as flexibility (the functions and settings of the room can be changed as needed, concerning the capacity, layout, and atmosphere), and access to information technology. The concept of classrooms is also designed to be environmentally friendly with a blend of natural colors, as well as a semi-circular shape of classrooms, making activities in the classroom more interactive and comfortable.
The inauguration of the Pertamina Tower 7th floor classroom was held on Thursday, September 19, 2019. The inauguration was attended by representatives of the Harahap family, Dr. Friderica Widyasari Dewi as Secretary General of KAFEGAMA (Keluarga Alumni Fakultas Ekonomi Gadjah Mada), representatives of the office of Cooperation and Alumni UGM, as well as officials within the FEB UGM. "We are grateful for the attention of alumni of the class of '56, especially to the family of the late Mr. Dolar Harahap so that this collaborative class room can be built," said Eko Suwardi, Ph.D - Dean of FEB UGM. Eko added that this shows the important role of alumni in the development of the alma mater. At this event a MoU was also signed between the Harahap Family and FEB UGM regarding the development of learning facilities.
With this alumni participation, it is expected that the quality of learning at the UGM Faculty of Economics and Business will continue to improve and there will be a good synergy between FEB UGM and all of stakeholders.
