GSW 2024 Officially Closed, Students Encouraged to Continue Collaborating to Build Society

The grand event of Global Summer Week (GSW) 2024 officially closed on Thursday (25/7). Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Suyanto, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., expressed gratitude that GSW 2024, which brought together students from various parts of the world, could be held smoothly. Participants were involved in academic discussions, collaborative learning, and cultural exchanges. GSW activities emphasized the importance of global collaboration in addressing various current challenges.
"Through the active participation of students in various GSW activities, we have explored new ideas and perspectives that will surely shape the future of our respective fields and the world," he explained.
Suyanto also advised all GSW 2024 participants to utilize the knowledge and skills they have acquired to build Society and the nation. He hopes that participants will continue to collaborate in the future and innovate to build Society.
"Remember, this is not a farewell but the beginning of a new journey. A journey to apply what has been learned, stay connected, and continue learning and sharing knowledge for the benefit of Society," he conveyed.
Several awards were presented for group and individual categories during the GSW 2024 closing ceremony. The Best Student award was given to Ahmad Iqbal Fachry Al Faizy from Surabaya State University.
Next, the Best Group 1 award was won by Group 8-G2RT Selopamioro, which included Neo Yee Shan (NTU), Tan Teng Na Janthina (NUS), Shum Zu Han (NTU), Alivia Khansa Affandi (UGM), Rizqi Aulia Amanda (Universitas Negeri Surabaya), Azzahra Salsabila Kencana (Universitas Padjadjaran), Azkal Azkiya Muhardi (UGM), Hanif Ahmad Reza Hasan (UGM), and Nurul Izzah Khairunnisa (Phillips Academy Andover).
The Group 2 award went to Group 1-G2RT Karangwuni, consisting of Nur Iman Binte Khaire (NTU), Gideon Lee (MIT Alumni), Muhammad Munif Putera Mohamed Zain (NTU), Azalia Ilma Irfani (UGM), Partiben Manasvini (UGM), Naia Faiza Kirana (Universitas Negeri Surabaya), Christiano Pengarapenta Pengidahen Tarigan (UGM), and Dwi Yoga Wicaksana (Universitas Negeri Surabaya).
The Best Group 3 award was won by Group 9-G2RT Salamrejo, which included Alma Maria Ida Braun (Copenhagen Business School), Nur Zakirah Binte Mohamed Yasin (NTU), Muhammad Danish Lutfi Bin Natiman (NTU), Ranessa Nurfadillah (UGM), Nadia Chairunnisa Yusarizqi (UGM), Novanda Akbar Dwiyanto (Universitas Negeri Surabaya), Pragya Anastasia Meijile Purba (UGM), Adli Muhammad Ahfaz Abdullah (Universitas Padjadjaran), and Mikha Jovan D P Hutasoit (UGM).
GSW 2024 is an annual agenda organized by FEB UGM since 2014. In 2024, GSW carried the theme "Sustainable Futures: Igniting Change through Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation." The event, which took place over 11 days from July 15-25, 2024, was attended by 30 international students from various countries and 56 students from several universities in Indonesia. Participants engaged in activities such as executive talks, lectures, field visits, social entrepreneurship projects, and cultural activities.
