Pelantikan PP KAFEGAMA 2024

The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA) held the inauguration of the Central Management (Pengurus Pusat) of KAFEGAMA for the period 2024-2027 on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Jakarta. This inauguration followed the Fourth National Conference (Munas) of KAFEGAMA, held on May 4, 2024.

During the conference, Dr. Friderica Widyasari Dewi, S.E., M.B.A. (KAFEGAMA ’94), who also serves as the Executive Head of Financial Services Business Conduct Supervision, Education, and Consumer Protection at the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and as a member of the OJK Board of Commissioners, was appointed as the Chairperson of PP KAFEGAMA for the period 2024-2027. Frederica was elected to succeed the previous Chairperson, Dr. Perry Warjiyo, S.E.

In her speech, Friderica expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her to lead KAFEGAMA for the next five years. She mentioned that her leadership would focus on continuing and strengthening KAFEGAMA’s previous programs to make them more beneficial to the broader community.

“Migunani (beneficial) is the core value of KAFEGAMA. We will continue Mr. Perry’s programs with additional initiatives to shine in the future,” she said.

KAFEGAMA is committed to contributing to the Tri Dharma of higher education at FEB UGM and developing Indonesia’s economy. Frederica mentioned that KAFEGAMA works with local and central governments, providing valuable input into policymaking. In addition, KAFEGAMA is committed to supporting academic activities at FEB UGM.

“We hope that KAFEGAMA alumni can give their best and prove that FEB is a successful faculty in Indonesia that contributes to the nation,” she said.

Several prominent figures attended the event, including the Chairman of the Gadjah Mada Alumni Association (KAGAMA), Ir. H. Ganjar Pranowo, the chairperson of PP KAFEGAMA for the period 2021-2024, who is also the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Dr. Perry Warjiyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., the Chairman of the Yogyakarta Chapter of KAFEGAMA, Dr. Bogat Agus Riyono, M.Sc., Ak., CA, and the Chairman of the PP KAFEGAMA Advisory Board, who is also the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com, Ak., CA.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari emphasized that KAFEGAMA plays an important role in supporting the development of FEB UGM. He cited a quote from JF Kennedy that a school or university’s success is measured by its graduates’ contributions to national life, which is consistent with the AACSB accreditation process at FEB UGM. First, AACSB emphasizes societal impact, and FEB UGM alums from various sectors, including government, private, and NGOs, have contributed to society. Second is thought leadership, where FEB UGM alums and academics can present original ideas that are applied in society.

Didi also expressed gratitude to KAFEGAMA for supporting FEB UGM and its students. KAFEGAMA has been instrumental in helping students from underprivileged families, including providing laptop support.

“Thank you to KAFEGAMA, and please continue your support for FEB UGM in the future,” he hoped.

KAGAMA’s Chairman, Ganjar Pranowo, shared a similar sentiment. He hoped that KAFEGAMA would continue to be united, harmonious, and beneficial. He hoped that KAFEGAMA could contribute to the nation through the knowledge of its alums.

Ganjar mentioned that job opportunities are still a challenge for the Indonesian community. Therefore, entrepreneurship must be encouraged, and creativity in creating business innovations is necessary.

“This is not something that hasn’t been done yet; KAFEGAMA has already started this. Let’s push a little more to help the current situation,” he said.
