The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) is unwavering in its commitment to helping its students reach their full potential. This commitment is demonstrated through the provision of scholarship information offered by the government, foundations, corporations, and alumni.
Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Alumni, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., revealed that FEB UGM students have an excellent opportunity to apply for various scholarships available at FEB UGM and UGM. Each scholarship has different characteristics and benefits. One of the scholarships that attracts enough attention is the TELADAN (Transformasi Edukasi untuk melahirkan Pemimpin Masa Depan) Scholarship from the Tanoto Foundation.
"The Tanoto FoundationTELADAN Scholarship provides not only tuition assistance but also a series of activities to enhance students' leadership skills and other essential soft skills," he said on Thursday (26/7).
Gilang said leadership skills are one of the soft skills that are important for today's graduates amid an increasingly competitive world of work. The TELADAN scholarship aligns with FEB UGM's mission to develop future leaders in business and economics to develop sustainability aspects.
Meanwhile, one of the 2022 Tanoto Scholars, Jasmine Iliyya, listed as a student of the Accounting Study Program Class of 2021, admitted that she was very grateful to be selected as one of the Tanoto Foundation TELADAN Scholarship recipients. Jasmine has been interested in scholarships since high school. She was even more determined to pursue this scholarship in college because it offered financial support, leadership, and other exciting programs.
"After being accepted, I feel happy and relieved because I successfully went through a long recruitment process and have been an awardee for three years. I hope there will be more FEB UGM students who become Tanoto Foundation Awardees in the future," she said.
Jasmine admitted that she received many benefits when she became a TELADAN Scholarship Awardee. One of them is that she gets tuition support through a one-time tuition payment until the 8th semester and a monthly living allowance. She also received leadership development support through leadership training programs.
Opportunities to join the Indonesian and global community network through short-term global experience programs at home and abroad, such as exchange programs, summer courses, internships, and volunteering, are also increasing. During her time as an awardee, Jasmine also had the opportunity to attend an international conference in Malaysia.
"I was sent to Malaysia to attend the Global Goals Youth Summit 2024 international conference," she said.
Jasmine also shared tips and tricks for students applying for the Tanoto Foundation TELADAN Scholarship. According to her, the most important thing is to pay attention to all the scholarship requirements, from the administrative side to the interview.
"We also need to know what makes us different from other scholarship candidates," Jasmine added.
