FEB UGM Hosts the FSDE Seminar 2024

The Economics Students Association, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (HIMIESPA FEB UGM) is again holding its annual highlight event, the 19th Forum for Economic Study and Discussion (FSDE) Seminar. This year's FSDE is themed "Fostering Human Capital Development: A Way for Developing Countries to Level Up". The seminar will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium MM FEB UGM, from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
The Chairperson of the 19th FSDE, Angga Makarim, said that this year's theme highlights the importance of human capital development in promoting economic growth and sustainability in developing countries. With this theme, the 19th FSDE Seminar 2024 aims to create an insightful discussion space on strategies to enhance understanding of the importance of improving the quality of human resources. "This seminar also serves as a forum to explore the dynamics and policy influences on human capital development," Angga said on Friday (11/11/2024).
Several prominent figures in business and development will be present to share their knowledge and ideas. The seminar will feature two keynote speakers: Drs. Amich Alhumami, MA, M.Ed, Ph.D. (Deputy for Human Development, Society and Culture at BAPPENAS) and Mohammad Arsjad Rasjid Prabu Mangkuningrat, B.Eng., B.Sc. (Chairman of KADIN Indonesia).
The seminar will also feature a TED Talk session with speakers such as Bhima Yudhistira Adhinegara (Director of the Center of Economic and Law Studies), Amanda McLoughlin OBE (Minister-Counsellor for Development for Indonesia, ASEAN and Timor-Leste) and Reza Anglingkusumo, Ph.D. (Principal Country Economist, Indonesia Resident Mission, Southeast Asia Department, Asian Development Bank).
Angga further expressed that the 19th FSDE Seminar 2024 invites students, academics, and young professionals to actively participate in building a better economic future for developing countries. This seminar is expected to inspire the younger generation to generate creative and solution-oriented ideas by opening discussions on the challenges and potentials of human capital development.
