Alumni Insight was held on 15th September 2018 in Auditorium Djarum Foundation, Pertamina Tower FEB UGM. This annual event, that is facilitated by external department of HIMIESPA (Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Ekonomi) FEB UGM, has invited distinguished alumni from Department of Economics FEB UGM to share their experience about their college life and skills involving their workplace. This year’s grand theme is “Survival kit: The Critical Juncture of Your Life” which addresses student’s nescience on how to determine their life goals in the future.

At the 63th Anniversary of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gajah Mada (FEB UGM) on 19th September, Open Senate Meetings and Scientific Oration of 2018 were held as one of the series events of Dies Natalis of FEB UGM. For the first time, Open Senate Meetings and Scientific Oration were held in the new building of FEB UGM, Auditorium of Learning Center Building. In this year, "Sinergi Meningkatkan Kualitas Pendidikan Tinggi" was chosen as a theme. The meeting was led by Prof. Marwan Asri, Ph.D. as Chairman of the Senate and accompanied with 26 other Professors of FEB UGM.

In the wake of AACSB re-accreditation that the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) will face in 2019, the Quality Assurance Unit along with the Ambassador for AACSB Visit 2019 team conducted AACSB Week 2018. The event was held on August 13-23 in order to prepare for the visit by the AACSB Peer Review Team (PRT) that is scheduled on February 2019 and to socialize the agenda towards the entire academic community of FEB UGM. AACSB Week 2018 had been an effective method to keep the entire FEB UGM community aware and actively participate in the AACSB accreditation process.

Indonesia is the largest e-commerce marketplace in Southeast Asia. Online transactions in the country have amounted to US$5 billion, while transactions in informal e-commerce reached US$3 billion.
It is estimated that there are 30 million Indonesian citizens who transact through online marketplaces.

The economic crisis which hit Turkey and Venezuela become a global concern, without exception to Indonesian government. This crisis was caused by a few policies taken by Donald Trump and The Fed, and caused emerging countries’ currencies to weaken, including the Rupiah as well. This weakening of the Rupiah may cause turmoil in the society.
