The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), through its Department of Management, organized a Visiting Scholar Program featuring Dr. Michał Lemański from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna), Austria. Held from May 18–21, 2026, the program reflects FEB UGM’s commitment to expanding academic collaboration with leading international universities to enhance the quality of education, research, and global networking.
Dr. Michał Lemański serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at WU Vienna. He possesses extensive international academic experience in marketing, responsible management, sustainability, international business, human resource management, and integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into business education. In addition to his teaching activities, he has a strong research track record in sustainability, responsible management, digital strategy, employer branding, and the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business and education.
During the Visiting Scholar Program, Dr. Lemański delivered a guest lecture for undergraduate students titled “Responsible Content Making and Copywriting” on May 18, 2026. The session highlighted the importance of creating engaging content while maintaining ethical and social responsibility. On the same day, he also shared information about study opportunities in Austria for students interested in exchange programs and prospective doctoral candidates. The session provided insights into Austria’s higher education system, scholarship opportunities, and international academic experiences that could benefit FEB UGM students.
On May 19, 2026, Dr. Lemański conducted another guest lecture titled “Experimental Research Design” for master’s and doctoral students at FEB UGM. During the session, students learned about experimental research methods, which are increasingly popular in management and marketing research because they yield more robust and relevant findings.
Furthermore, on May 20, 2026, Dr. Lemański delivered a guest lecture on “Responsible Use of AI Tools in Education” for MBA students at FEB UGM’s Yogyakarta campus. He presented a similar session for undergraduate students on May 21, 2026. In these lectures, Dr. Lemański discussed the use of AI as a tool to support learning and emphasized the importance of maintaining academic integrity, critical thinking skills, and user responsibility when utilizing AI technologies.
Prof. Nurul Indarti, Head of the Department of Management at FEB UGM and Cand.Merc., Ph.D., stated that the Visiting Scholar Program with Dr. Michał Lemański will significantly enhance the quality of education, research, and international collaboration at FEB UGM. Through this initiative, members of the FEB UGM academic community can gain global perspectives on the latest developments in marketing, sustainability, responsible management, and the application of Artificial Intelligence in business and education.
