Tim DAH Compliance

Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), competing as Team DAH Compliance, won first place in the Audit Case Challenge at the 24th Auditor’s Transformation Venture (ATV) in Jakarta on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Team DAH Compliance consists of Della Nurhaliza (Accounting 2022), Aurora Btari Maharani Putri Suhendi (Accounting 2022), and M. Hilmy Naufal (Accounting 2022). In addition to securing first place, the team also won the Best Speaker award, which Della Nurhaliza won.

The competition, organized by the Accounting Professionalism Studies (SPA) of FEB UI, was held at PT Astra International, Jakarta, and 87 participants in 29 teams from various top universities in Indonesia attended. The competition consisted of three main stages: the preliminary round, the semifinal round, and the final round.

Della explained that in the first stage, all teams had to submit an analytical paper proposing solutions to a given case study. In this phase, participants analyzed PT Planto, a coal mining company, to identify business and sustainability risks and make recommendations for compliance with sustainability regulations. The top ten teams advanced to the semifinals, where they were challenged to solve a new case study and present their solutions through a presentation and risk control matrix.

This case focused on PT Planto’s sustainable palm oil production and required participants to conduct an industry analysis, risk assessment, and audit methodology to ensure the company’s completeness and accuracy.

The top five teams from the semifinal round advanced to the final round, which was held on-site at PT Astra International, Jakarta. In this stage, participants analyzed a more complex case study focused on risk mitigation strategies for corporate sustainability. The final round challenged all teams to address ESG data management and risk mitigation, requiring them to design PT Planto’s sustainability compliance strategy and participate in the Audit Case Forum to refine their solutions collaboratively.

“Participating in this competition has greatly enhanced our understanding of auditing, sustainability, and risk analysis in the industry,” said Della on Tuesday (March 18).

Della emphasized that achieving this success was not easy. The team faced several challenges, including time constraints, as all members were involved in internship programs. In addition, the presentation sessions with professional panelists from industry and academia posed another challenge, as the team had to defend their arguments and propose solutions in front of experts.

The team’s success was also supported by FEB UGM, mainly through access to relevant e-journals and e-books in auditing and accounting, such as Auditing and Assurance Services by Arens, Randal J. Elder, and Mark S. Beasley.

“We hope to continue to achieve excellence in the future, and we hope that this achievement can inspire more FEB UGM students to strive for greatness,” she concluded.
