Undergraduate Students of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) succeeded to become the champion of The Debate Competition from Himpunan Mahasiswa Akuntansi Fair (HMA FAIR 2018) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang. In this Regional (Yogyakarta-Central Java) Debate Competition, Fernandi Army (Economics 2015), Rickfan Wijaya (Accounting 2016), and Jefri Andhika Pakpahan (International Relation 2016) got the 1st place. This very proud achievement certainly cannot be separated from the support of various parties, including support from UGM itself.
HMA Fair 2018 is one of the debate competitions held by the Accounting Students Association of Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang with the theme “The Role of Human Resources in Order to Increase the Value of Indonesian Exports in the International Arena”. The event was held on Sunday 29 April 2018, participated by universities from all over D.I. Yogyakarta and Central Java. The total teams participating in the competition were 24 teams, include Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang, Universitas Guna Dharma, Universitas Sanata Dharma, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and others.
The first round is the knockout round. UGM team faced againts Universitas Sains Al’Quran in the first round. UGM team consists of Rickfan Wijaya (first speaker), Jefri Andika Pakpahan (second speaker), and Fernandi Army (third speaker) made it through the semifinals and reached the peak of the event, the final round. In the final round, UGM team faced againts Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang with the motion “The most appropriate program to increase Indonesian exports”. UGM won againts Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang in the final round and obtained the 1st place.
