FEB UGM Team Won 2nd Place in Gadjah Mada International Business Case Competition 2017

Éclatant Team, from Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, consisting of Kristoforus Aditya Wibawa (Accounting 2013), Tsamara Fahrana Putrityas (Management 2013), and Silvio Adriano (Management 2013), had successfully won the 2nd place in Gadjah Mada International Business Case Competition (GMBCC 2017) on March 7-9, 2017.
The competition started in November 2016, where 130+ teams submitted their solution for a Singapore Airline case in the preliminary round. 10 teams were then selected to join the semifinal round in Yogyakarta. The 10 teams from 3 countries participated were teams from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Kristen Petra, Prasetiya Mulya Business School, Singapore Institute of Management, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and Bangladesh. In the semifinal, the teams solved a marketing strategy case for BTPN Wow! The teams competed to solve the case in just 4 hours’ time and presented to the qualified judges.
In the final round, 5 teams proceed and challenged to solve another real business case in 3 hours. The topic was a market entry strategy for DB Schenker, a supply chain management and logistic solution company. The teams presented for 8 minutes in front of judges from both the business and academicians. The final round then followed by question and answer session by the judges and fellow finalists. Then, each team closed the session with a closing statement to convince the judges with their proposed solutions.
