International Seminar: Islamic Accounting for Social Welfare

Shariah Corner Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada with Shariah Economics Forum (SEF) UGM and Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (IAI) will organize an International Seminar on the theme “Islamic Accounting for Social Welfare”, (Indonesia: Akuntansi Islam untuk Kesejahteraan Sosial).

The international seminar will be held on:

  • Day, date: Thursday, November 12, 2015
  • Time: 08:30 AM to finish
  • Venue: Bulaksumur Hall, UC UGM Hotel & Convention

Speakers, as follows:

  1. Prof. Bambang Sudibyo (Accounting Professor at UGM and Chairman of BAZNAS)
  2. Dr. Muhammad Hudaib (Reader at the University Of Glasgow, United Kingdom)
  3. Prof. Roszaini Hanifa (Professor at Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom)
  4. M. Jusuf Wibisana (Chairman of Sharia Accounting Standards Board, IAI)

Registration fee: Rp1.000.000,- /participant
* Registration of group with minimum 3 persons: Rp750.000,- /participant
** Special prices for undergraduate and graduate students

Government policies addressing employment issues are often piecemeal and short-term in nature. Economist and Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), Wisnu Setiadi Nugroho, S.E., M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D., highlighted the increasing difficulty young people, including graduates from top universities, face in finding jobs that match their competencies.
