1st Gadjah Mada International Conference on Islamic Economic Development, Islamic Business Research, and Islamic Accounting and Finance

Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) in cooperation with Graduate School Universitas Gadjah Mada, Society for the Advance of Islamic Economic Studies (SAIES), and Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) will organize the 1st Gadjah Mada International Conference On Islamic Economics and Development (GAMA ICIED), Islamic Business Research (GAMA ICIBR), and Islamic Accounting and Finance (GAMA ICIAF).

The international seminar will be held on:

  • Day, date: Thursday-Saturday, May 12-14, 2016
  • Venue: Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta

On this international conference consists of joint plenary discussion sessions and parallel presentation sessions. Tentative programs for the joint plenary discussion sessions and parallel presentation sessions are as follow.

Joint Plenary Discussion Session 1: Islamic Economics and Economic Development

    Indonesia’s Minister of Finance and Chairman, Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI)

Joint Plenary Discussion Session 2: Towards New Directions of Research in Islamic Economics

  1. Professor Muhammad Akram Khan
    Author of the book, “What is wrong with Islamic economics? Analyzing the present state and future agenda” published by Edward Elgar Publishing
  2. Dr. Akhmad Akbar Susamto
    Director, Centre for Islamic Economics and Business Research (PKEBS), Universitas Gadjah Mada and Founder, Society for the Advancement of Islamic Economic Studies (SAIES)

Joint Plenary Discussion Session 3: Laying the Foundations for Islamic Business Research
