The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), is once again offering free breakfast to students during the mid-semester examinations (UTS) of the second semester in the 2024/2025 academic year. From April 8 to April 17, 2025, FEB UGM will distribute 150 servings of nutritious meals each day throughout the exam period.
This complimentary breakfast initiative highlights the faculty’s commitment to student well-being. It is part of the Mood Booster Program, organized by the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU) since 2023.
“In keeping with the positive tradition we’ve upheld for the past two years, we continue to offer a mood booster for students during both midterms and final exams,” said Bayu Sutikno, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FEB UGM, on Thursday (April 10, 2025).
Bayu noted that in addition to providing wholesome meals, the Mood Booster program also features a “Happy Corner” and the distribution of motivational stickers to uplift students’ spirits.
“We hope FEB UGM students feel more at ease and energized during exams, enabling them to perform at their best,” he added.
Anisa Yuliandri, S.Psi., M.Psi., a psychologist at CSDU, mentioned that this semester’s Mood Booster program includes a fresh twist. This time, the menu was curated based on a student survey to better align with their tastes and preferences.
Beyond meeting students’ nutritional needs, the program also supports mental well-being through the Time Capsule campaign. This initiative encourages students to write down their aspirations, goals, and motivational messages to stay inspired during the midterm season.
“The purpose of the Mood Booster program is to help students feel appreciated and supported during exam time. We hope it serves as a positive boost to enhance their academic performance,” she explained.
The program has been well received by students. One of them, Nayla Phui Amazona (Accounting 2023), praised the initiative for its relevance and support during midterms.
“The Mood Booster Program makes us feel acknowledged and cared for, helping us navigate exams more easily. I hope it continues, as it provides both nutritional support and meaningful motivation,” she shared.
Mikael Belen Hutagaol (Accounting 2022) echoed the sentiment, appreciating the program as a timely support system during exams.
“Mood Booster is a big help. Many of us get so caught up in studying that we skip breakfast. This program really lifts our spirits,” he said.
