A total of 50.36 percent of the new undergraduate students in the Regular Class of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), have received Single Tuition Fee (UKT) subsidies. Of those students, 11.69 percent qualified for the 100% Subsidized Excellent Education Tuition (UKT 0), meaning they are exempt from paying tuition fees throughout their studies.
Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., C.A., during the opening of PIONIR SIMFONI 2025 on Wednesday (August 6) at Plaza FEB UGM, emphasized the faculty’s efforts to maintain inclusivity by providing access to students from diverse backgrounds, including those with limited financial means.
“More than half of this year’s new students 50.36% received UKT subsidies. Of those students, 11.69% received full subsidies,” Didi stated.
He further explained that the tuition subsidy is a tangible expression of FEB UGM’s commitment to ensuring equitable and affordable education access, while identifying and nurturing outstanding potential from various social, economic, and geographical backgrounds.
In 2025, FEB UGM welcomed 586 new undergraduate students, 419 students from the regular track and 167 from the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). These students come from 32 provinces across Indonesia.
“This year, FEB UGM admitted 586 new undergraduate students from all over Indonesia, from Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam in the west to North Maluku in the east, and North Sulawesi in the north to East Nusa Tenggara in the south. This campus is a miniature Indonesia—diverse, inclusive, and tolerant,” he remarked.
During the PIONIR SIMFONI 2025 event, which carried the theme “Affirming the Integrity of the Nation’s Young Pioneers, Creating Social Impact,” Didi advised the new students, known as Gadjah Mada Muda (Gamada), to not only focus on academic activities, but also actively participate in extracurricular activities such as student organizations, sports, and the arts.
