Responding to the spread of the increasingly widespread COVID-19 virus, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) collaborated with the Department of Social Community Student Executive Board (BEM) FEB UGM to provide aid to assist 61 overseas students who are still in Yogyakarta. The aid was in the form of food items (instant noodles and crackers), drinks (green bean extract, mineral water, and cereal drinks), toiletries (soap bars, shampoo, and toothpaste), multivitamins and personal protective equipment (cloth masks).
The provision of this aid will be carried out in several stages. Phase I was held on Tuesday, April 7th. In the distribution process, the activity involved educators and students. The assistance was provided at four points, in the north, east, west, and south. The activity began at 08.30 WIB at the FEB UGM G-11 Official House. The giving of aid was symbolically carried out by Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Dean of FEB UGM, and Amirullah Setya Hardi, Cand. Oecon., Ph.D. as Vice Dean of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni. Besides, Syariah Bank BRI Syariah Yogyakarta also provided funding of IDR 5,000,000 (five million rupiahs) to students.
The hope is that the provision of aid can ease the burden on students during the pandemic.
