FEB UGM Held the 11th Annual International Conference GAMAICEB 2023

GAMAICEB 2023

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) collaborated with The International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) to organize “The 11th Gadjah Mada International Conference on Economics and Business (GAMAICEB)”. GAMAICEB is an annual international conference managed by the FEB UGM Publication Unit. This year, the 11th GAMAICEB raised the main topic: Collaborative Research and Policy Action for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals. This conference aligns with Sustainable Development Goals no. 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and no. 17, Partnership for the Goals. The GAMAICEB 2023 activities series lasted two days, 25-26 August 2023.

On Monday (25/09), the opening ceremony of the 11th GAMAICEB was held at The Alana Hotel & Convention Center Yogyakarta. The event began with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya. To liven up the event, a traditional dance performance by Putri Ngruji from the Bagong Kusudiharja Arts Padepokan was performed. Gigih Fitrianto, Ph.D., Chair of GAMAICEB, was present and gave a speech. “I would like to thank the sponsors, volunteers, and committee who have provided high dedication in making this conference as an effort to achieve a sustainable future,” he explained. Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Alumni of FEB UGM, also gave a speech. “This conference is a great opportunity for everyone to learn from each other,” he said. He also hoped that this activity could become a series of GAMAICEB events that would continue to grow.

Prof. Dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, also delivered remarks. “We hope that this forum can facilitate intensive and productive networking among academics, policymakers, practitioners, students, and all parties interested in continuing research business continuity and economic recovery across the globe from different point of view,” said her. Prof. Eva hit the gong as a symbol of the opening of the 2023 GAMAICEB conference. The inauguration of the gong was accompanied by Ratih Fitria Putri, S.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Head of Sub-directorate of Scientific Publications and Intellectual Property UGM), Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs FEB UGM), Suyanto, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources FEB UGM), Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Alumni FEB UGM), Widya Paramita (Chair of the FEB UGM Publication Unit), and Gigih Fitrianto, Ph.D. (Chairman of GAMAICEB).
