Monday (10/07). In the 2023 Global Summer Week (GSW) series, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), Dr. Anita Alves Pena, professor of Economics and Environmental Health and Employment at Colorado State University (CSU) and Colorado School of Public Health, presents research that focuses on the intersections of labor economics, health, and occupational safety in the agricultural sector, with particular emphasis on immigrant agricultural workers in the United States (US). In her research, Anita explores the production decisions of companies that consider labor, materials and capital as inputs and how they affect production, which minimizes costs. In addition, she also discusses the implications of ethics in occupational health and safety, especially in manufacturing factories that employ workers with poor working conditions around the world.

Friday (7/07), the 5th session of Global Summer Week 2023 was filled by Dr. Fitri Amalia. Dr. Fitri is a lecturer from the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). On this occasion, Dr. Fitri explained material related to risks and ethics in the digital ecosystem. The session opened with an explanation regarding the importance of technology in today's life. Digital technology has opened up opportunities to improve global interconnection, access to information and entertainment, efficiency and productivity, shopping convenience, and innovation development, which is increasingly skyrocketing.

FEB UGM held a series of Global Summer Week 2023 events from 5-18 July 2023. One of the speakers in this program was Dr. Frendy, a professor from Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, Japan. He raised the theme "Ethical Corporate Reporting: International Regulations, Standards, and Frameworks" in the lecture, which was delivered in two days. In the first lecture, Thursday (6/07), Dr. Frendy discussed the topic "International Regulatory Landscape". Meanwhile, in the second lecture on Friday (7/07), the topic he presented was "International Reporting Standards and Framework".

Wednesday (5/07), the first lecture of the 2023 Global Summer Week (GSW) program series was officially held at the 8th Floor Auditorium of the Learning Center Building, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). The inaugural lecture was filled by Dr. David M. Waguespack, a professor in management and organization from the University of Maryland. On this occasion, David explained the relationship between location and regional entrepreneurial growth.

Wednesday (5/07) Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), in collaboration with the the Alumni Family of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA) and Pupuk Kaltim (PKT), hold the Opening of Pupuk Kaltim - Gadjah Mada Business Case Competition (PKT-Gama BCC) took place, marking the start of the event which aims to develop and foster individuals who are dedicated, intelligent, critical, agile, and open in order to increase knowledge and build a dignified nation.

Wednesday (05/07), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held the opening ceremony for the Global Summer Week 2023 with the theme "Business and Economic Ethics: Imposing Morality in the Market to Build a Better World". This event was held offline on the 8th floor of the FEB UGM Learning Center Building. Global Summer Week, previously called I-Week, is an annual event organized by FEB UGM in the form of short courses in the summer. This year's Global Summer Week events series will take place from 5-18 July 2023.
