The Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM), provides various forms of support for its students affected by disasters in Aceh, Sumatra Utara, and Sumatra Barat. FEB UGM takes the program to ensure that students can continue their academic activities smoothly despite the difficult situation affecting their families. Currently, 18 FEB UGM students from various undergraduate and postgraduate programs have been affected by the disaster.
The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FEB UGM, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., emphasised that FEB aligns with UGM’s commitment and policy by actively ensuring that no student faces obstacles in completing their studies, including those from disaster-affected areas in Sumatra. FEB implements this commitment through several initiatives, including providing free lunch for affected students across all academic levels.
FEB offers this support in the form of lunch vouchers that students can redeem at the FEB canteen during the Final Examination period, from 8 to 19 December 2025.
“All FEB students affected by disasters from Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra are provided with lunch vouchers at the FEB canteen during the Final Exam Period,” explained Bayu on Monday (8/12/2025) at FEB UGM.
Additionally, FEB UGM offers flexibility in UKT payments for the upcoming semester. This policy includes options for reducing or deferring UKT payments, tailored to each student’s individual circumstances to ease their financial burden.
