The Alumni Family of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Class of 1996 (KAFEGAMA 96) held a 30-year reunion titled “3 Decades, One Heart” on Saturday (May 2, 2026) at FEB UGM. The series of events began with a memorial visit, followed by an alum gathering and scholarship handover.
156 alumni attended the event out of a total of 279 active alumni from the Class of 1996. The gathering also included a heartfelt tribute to honor 14 alumni who have passed away.
The Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Ak., CA., expressed deep appreciation for the alumni’s contributions to the faculty’s development, including achievements in international accreditations such as AACSB and LAMEMBA.
“Without the support and involvement of our alumni, we would not have reached where we are today,” he stated.
Furthermore, Didi emphasized that FEB UGM continuously strives to maintain educational quality that is not only academically excellent but also inclusive and accessible to all segments of society. One such effort takes the form of tuition fee assistance policies. Currently, 20 percent of regular undergraduate students at FEB UGM pay no tuition fees at all, while only 40 percent pay the full amount. This policy demonstrates the faculty’s commitment to providing equal educational opportunities regardless of economic background.
“No undergraduate student should have to drop out due to financial difficulties,” he stressed.
In line with this spirit, KAFEGAMA 96 presented a scholarship donation of IDR 50,000,000 to the faculty as a tangible form of alum support. Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., the Head of the KAFEGAMA 1996 Reunion Committee, explained that the funds would be allocated to 10 eligible undergraduate students.
“We are committed to supporting students facing financial constraints, and we entrust the faculty to allocate the scholarships to eligible undergraduate students,” Bayu explained.
