A total of 49.65 percent of new regular undergraduate students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), received a Tuition Fee (UKT) subsidy for the 2026/2027 academic year. In other words, nearly half of FEB UGM’s new students benefit from financial assistance toward their tuition fees. Among them, 14.02 percent receive a full (100%) UKT subsidy, allowing them to pursue their studies without paying tuition. This reflects FEB UGM’s continued commitment to providing inclusive and equitable access to higher education.
Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Didi Achjari, M.Com. Ak., C.A., Ph.D., emphasized that FEB UGM remains committed to ensuring equal learning opportunities for all students, regardless of their social, economic, or geographical backgrounds.
“Nearly half of this year’s new Regular Undergraduate students, or 49.65 percent, receive UKT subsidies, with 14.02 percent of them being granted a full tuition waiver,” he stated on Wednesday (August 5) while welcoming 613 new students during the PIONIR SIMFONI 2026 orientation program at the FEB UGM Plaza.
Prof. Didi explained that the tuition subsidy program represents FEB UGM’s tangible commitment to expanding equitable access to higher education by supporting talented students from diverse social, economic, and geographical backgrounds.
This policy aligns with UGM’s principle of equity through its Tuition Fee (UKT) system, ensuring that prospective students with strong academic potential can pursue quality higher education regardless of their financial circumstances.
By consistently providing UKT subsidies each year, FEB UGM continues to strengthen its role as an inclusive faculty dedicated to expanding access to higher education. The initiative is expected to create broader opportunities for Indonesia’s young generation to develop their academic potential and become future leaders in economics and business.
In 2026, FEB UGM welcomed 613 new undergraduate students, consisting of 432 Regular Undergraduate students and 181 International Undergraduate Program (IUP) students. The students come from various regions across Indonesia. Before beginning their academic journey at FEB UGM, they participated in the PIONIR SIMFONI 2026 orientation program, held on August 5–6, 2026.
