International PKT-GAMA BCC 2024 Successfully Held, Here Are the Winners

Awarding NIght PKT-GAMABCC 2024

FEB UGM, in cooperation with the Alumni Family of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM (KAFEGAMA) and PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) successfully held the International Pupuk Kalimantan Timur Gadjah Mada Business Case Competition (PKT-GAMA BCC) 2024. The grand finale was held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at TMII Jakarta.

This competition with the theme “Indonesia Food Sustainability” was attended by 244 teams from various renowned universities in Indonesia and abroad. Participants underwent several selection stages to evaluate the innovation and creative ideas presented to address food sustainability issues.

The competition was judged by a panel of academics, practitioners and industry professionals, including Dr. Liu Lerwen (Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship NTU Entrepreneurship Academy), Emilia Setyowati (Food & Agriculture Expert at Bina Swadaya, Trubus Holding), Muhajir Rofi’i (AVP Procurement of PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia), Majus Luther Sirait (SV Operations 1, PT. PKT), Dr. Edwin Hidayat Abdullah (Deputy of SOE Ministry 2015-2019), Dr. Yunita Handayati (Lecturer at SBM ITB), Muhammad Fariz Failaka (Senior Process Engineer at PT. PKT), and Andrew Tobing (COO Agri Fintech Crowde).

The Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Ak., CA., stated that the PKT-GAMA BCC competition is an annual event organized through FEB UGM and PT collaboration. PKT, and KAFEGAMA. The competition started in 2022 and is now in its third year. This year’s competition is exceptional as it was held internationally, with the participation of many international students.

The President of KAFEGAMA, Dr. Friderica Widyasari Dewi, S.E., M.B.A., mentioned that the PKT-GAMA BCC is not just a competition. It is an excellent platform for solving national problems and Indonesia’s real food sustainability challenges. The ideas presented by all teams offer concrete perspectives on providing solutions that promote sustainable and inclusive growth.

The Managing Director of PT. PKT, F. Purwanto, emphasized that PT. PKT is firmly committed to contributing to solving national problems. This competition will present various innovative ideas to help address food sustainability issues.

  • 1st place: Nyubi Nyoba (Telkom University)
  • 2nd place: Bisa-bisa (Universitas Gadjah Mada)
  • 3rd place: EcoTechpreneurs (Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta)
  • Honorable Mention 1: KL Foodie (National University of Singapore)
  • Honorable Mention 2: GrowthUP (University of the Philippines – Diliman)
  • Best Speaker: Vidha Hiranya (Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta)

Postgraduate Category:

  • 1st Place: 3mpower (Institut Teknologi Bandung)
  • 2nd place: Aquator (Fachhochschule Osnabrück)
  • 3rd place: Visionaries (Universitas Indonesia)
  • Honorable Mention 1: Food-Forward (Monash University Indonesia)
  • Honorable Mention 2: Semua Rempah Indonesia (Universitas Gadjah Mada)
  • Best Speaker: Dian Shintayani (Monash University Indonesia)

This event was a competition and a forum for international collaboration to create real solutions to food security issues. The ideas presented are expected to significantly contribute to achieving food sustainability in Indonesia. This competition also reflects the commitment of FEB UGM and its partners to drive innovation and academic contributions relevant to global needs.
