On Saturday, 4th August 2018, Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) inaugurated the learning center building. The event took place on the 1st floor hall of learning center building at 08.30 WIB. The inauguration of the learning center building was attended by the Dean of FEB UGM, Eko Suwardi, Rector of UGM, Panut Mulyono, President Commissioner of PT Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional, Tbk., Paul Capelle, President Director of PT Djarum, Tbk., Primadi H Sierad, President Director of PT Sasmito, Ir. Sutikno, Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Mohamad Nasir, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AACSB International, Tom Robinson, several deans of other tertiary business schools, former Dean of FEB UGM and lecturers of FEB UGM.

Agreement among ASEAN countries to achieve economic integration through the ASEAN Economic Community cannot yet materialise due the unresolved issue of Single Identity Number (SIN) in addition to conflict and political interests among member countries. This was said by Head of Economics Laboratory of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, Dr. Rimawan Pradiptyo, in a general lecture during the International Summer University course, held in Djarum Hall of the Faculty on Monday (23/7).

Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held International Week (for the fifth time) and International Summer University (for the third time). Both events were officially opened on July 23, 2018 at Auditorium Djarum Foundation, Pertamina Tower FEB UGM. The International Week and International Summer University events run from July 23rd to August 10th, 2018.

FEB UGM students promoted local communities in exploiting silkworms in Desa Karang Tengah, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Silkworm is one of the excellent resources owned by Karang Tengah village. A large number of potential silkworms, which include golden silkworm and brown silkworm, can be produced from cashew gardens in the region.

Indonesia is one of world’s 50 most wasteful countries. Meanwhile, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) projects that the condition will be worse by 9.200 tons of waste production per day in 2025.
On the other hand, Central Bureau of Indonesia shows that the average waste management processed by Indonesian community is only about 10.28 percent in 2013. The number continues to decrease to 8.75 percent in 2014.
